What SKIF Sounds Like?

The question was deemed interesting for the authors of the music album “Sounds of Science” dedicated to the main scientific achievements of 2021, the year being celebrated in Russia as the Year of Science and Technologies. The album is presented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of RF.

According to the authors, the nine compositions were written along the principles of operation of each object.

Besides SRF “SKIF” the authors were inspired by:

• NICA collider
• carbon polygons
• genetic technology CRISPR/Cas9 for treating heritable diseases
• CoviVac COVID-19 vaccine
• toroidal chamber with magnetic coils (Tokamak T-15 MD)
• new research vessels for studying water masses, bottom, Earth atmosphere, and space
• neutrino telescope BAIKAL-GVD for accumulating knowledge on the history of the Universe for millions and billions years
• ISS module “Nauka” (“Science”), the laboratory module of the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS)
